How long have you been a Make-Up Artist?
I have been a MUA for over 7 years.

What attracted you to this career path?
I started out as an Aesthetician (someone who does facials and waxing for day spas) and I always ended up being the in-house makeup artist for the spas I worked for and so I applied for a freelancing job with MAC cosmetics. I worked for MAC for 2 1/2 years and found that I really had a passion for makeup so I started my own business 4 years ago, Nisa Nicole Makeup Artistry.

Are there any particular brands or products (make-up, hairsprays, etc) that you prefer to work with?
I use mostly MAC makeup/skin care on my clients but I really like to explore and try out products from different lines, this keeps my makeup kit current and fresh.

Any fashion shows that you have worked on lately?
The last fashion show I worked on was for a high-end lingerie designer named Megan Sommerville of Sew Sister. You can see her work at www.sewsister.com.

Any fashion shows that you have coming up?
I am currently booked for the next Austin Fashion Feud http://www.fashionfeud.net all the while working on many new projects, booking new clients and still finding the time to work with my favorite designers, photographers, musicians and models (especially since I just hired my first assistant).

Do you have a salon located anywhere downtown?
I will always work on location and will not leave until my work looks flawless.

List any other hobbies you enjoy.
My interests range from fashion and Austin's social scene to travel and live music. I have been an Austinite for 16 years and am always proud to support local talent and businesses as I have been supported. My most recent acknowledgement from the industry was winning the Best Technique for a Makeup Artist Award from Austin Fashion Week.

How long have you been a hairstylist?
11 years.

What attracted you to this career path?
Started in high school as head hair and make-up artist. Loved it!! So I started beauty school at the age of 16 had my lic by 18 and the rest is history.

Are there any particular brands or products (make-up, hairsprays, etc) that you prefer to work with?
Bed Head at the moment.

Any fashion shows that you have worked on lately?
Heat Wave Fashion Show in Feb. '09 , Chirp Jewelry Fashion Show at Lux Apothitic in summer '09.

Any fashion shows that you have coming up?
My Second Annual Charity Fashion Show to help out Waterloo counseling services.

Do you have a salon located anywhere downtown?
Grapevine Salons off Rio Grande between 22nd and 23rd street.

Movies, Camping, Animals, Painting, and Nature.
